She arches her faces toward his hand relishing in his touch
What’s left of the food she lovingly prepared for him
Is on the table with the roses he bought her
The aroma of the vanilla candles he lit swirl around them
Encompassing them in a cocoon of warmth
His kiss on her forehead radiates love
While he whispers words of promise in her ear
Her eyes begin to tear as he lowers himself to his knee
